Water is essential for good health!

We must have fresh water to survive, and thrive.

Our bodies consist of more than 70% water and our blood circulates over 400 gallons of water through our kidneys daily. We can survive 30 days without food, but only five to seven days without water. Only oxygen is more essential to our survival.

Experts agree that consuming approximately 2 ½ quarts of water (from all sources, water, food, etc.) each day are vital to maintaining optimum health and fitness; however, studies indicate that approximately 75% of Americans do not get enough water for their bodies to operate at peak performance.

Adequate water consumption contributes to high fitness levels and maintaining appropriate body weight.

Lack of adequate water contributes to Americans' problems with overweight and physical fitness. In one study, researchers estimated that 37% of Americans have a thirst mechanism so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. Eating food when thirsty adds to overweight problems and additional dehydration as the body needs water to digest food.

Studies have shown that mild dehydration can slow metabolism as much as 3%, contributing to weight gain.

In a University of Washington study of dieters, participants discovered that one glass of water took care of midnight hunger pangs, with no added calories.

Adequate water consumption contributes to high energy levels and memory skills.

Dehydration has been found to be the number one trigger of fatigue during the day.

A mere 2% drop in body water can cause fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or a printed page.

Adequate water consumption helps fight pain and disease.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water per day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

Drinking 5 glasses of water per day decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and makes one 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Since water is so important to our health and fitness, doesn't it make sense to drink the purest water available, the water closest to that found in nature?
